The Destruction of Sebago Lake State Park Beach

Roger Wheeler photos
May 6, 2000. High water levels cover Songo Beach at Sebago Lake State
Park. Lake levels were exacerbated by a state lake level plan that maintains
artificially high lake levels for much of the spring and summer.
Note the recently exposed tree roots in the lower photo, where wave action
has eroded and removed the layer of sand and soil around the roots.
